    Christmas on the Square returns to Merrion Square for the sixth year on Saturday the 25th of November. 

    This free event brings you the best of Irish design, craft, innovation, food, drink and culture. Take a peek inside some of the Georgian houses of Merrion Square  and celebrate Christmas. Pick up the perfect Irish gift for friends and family. Discover Merrion Square’s fashion history on Rua Ruth’s Lost Fashion tour of the Square. Learn to make the perfect Christmas wreath for your home during our workshops with Sam Tolentino . Tuck into warming treats at our pop up cafe Luncheonette or visit the newly refurbished National Gallery of Ireland. There will be plenty to delight you on the day.

    8: CAFE AND BOOKSHOP ON THE SQUARE

    11am–5pm

    The RIAI is the home of the largest Architectural bookshop in Ireland,  the ground floor shop will be sure to have for the perfect present for the design afficinado in your life.

    11am–5pm Join Jennie Moran as she brings the tasty treats of Luncheonette from its regular home at the National College of Art and Design to No 8 Merrion Square for one day only. Jennie will serving up winter warming delights and sinful cakes to keep you going throughout the day.

    45: CRAFT & GIFTS ON THE SQUARE

    10am–5pm The Irish Architectural Archive welcomes old and new friends to the  design, craft, gift and food market, which will take over the ground and first floor of this beautiful building.

    On the ground floor discover the joy of making a Christmas wreath for your home with demonstrations by Sam Tolentino. You will have the opportunity to purchase all the essential items to make your own wreath this Christmas!

    On the first floor shop for Irish designed and made Christmas presents while taking in the views of Merrion Square Park.

    Among the wonderful Irish designers and makers taking part are Snow, Fawn, The Saturday Workshop, Green Angel Skincare, Clarkes Soap, Ecotree knitwear, Ceramics by Karo Art, bags from Atlantic Equipment  and children’s clothing from the Stork Box and many others.

    Enjoy a mix of Dublin and Irish artisanal food stalls in the Irish Architectural Archive and to find the perfect gift for the food lover in your life. Select your perfect Irish farmhouse cheeseboard for Christmas from Corleggy Cheese, Wilde about Food, Great Northern Larder, Dublin Honey Project and treat yourself with a yummy a cake from Armelles.

    3pm Join well-known Dublin based fashion historian Ruth Griffin and enjoy the lost fashion walking tour which reveals the hidden story of why Merrion Square has such a special place in Dublin’s fashion history.     63 ANTIQUES ON THE SQUARE

    10am–4pm

    The Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland will open its doors this Christmas to a delightful Antiques and Gift Fair curated by Chantal Fortune. A selection of Irish dealers will be selling the finest Antiques and Irish gifts, including: antiques, jewellery, silver, fine china pottery and porcelain, collectables, furniture and carpets. A collection of curiosities not to be missed this Christmas if you are looking for that very special gift for that very special person
